Services Provided
§
Pet
Therapy –
Certified therapy dogs and their human team members bring the
unconditional love of pets to residents of nursing homes, hospitals and
senior centers, brightening the day for those who are no longer able to
have their own pets.
§
PetSafe –
This collaborative outreach program helps combat domestic violence and
animal abuse. PetSafe cares for pets of persons in crisis, particularly
women and children who are victims of domestic violence. PetSafe provides
the pet temporary shelter in a secure location free of charge while the
person seeks help for herself and her children typically at the Paducah
Women Aware Shelter or other housing that cannot accept cats or dogs.
§
KIND News
– This student newspaper carries the message of humane education to K-6
graders in city, county and private schools. This entertaining paper
encourages a child's natural feeling of compassion toward their fellow
human beings, animals and the environment.
§
Fixed for Life – This program helps low income families spay and neuter
their pets by paying half the cost of the procedure.
