Annual Giving Campaign
The United Way of Murray Calloway County raises money on an annual basis
to help various agencies in our community. The Annual Giving Campaign
begins with the Kick-Off Banquet at the end of August each year and runs
through December. In January/February we announce the final amount of
money raised at our Celebration Breakfast. Money is raised through
individual giving, payroll deductions and business/corporate donations.
The 2005 Annual Giving Campaign was a tremendous success and through the
hard work of our many volunteers, the United Way met its goal of
$305,000. This money supports our 12 member agencies and other local
targeted community needs. So when the 2006 campaign rolls around and
someone asks you to give, please remember that we need your help to
continue our goal of "local people supporting local people". And be rest
assured that your contribution to the United Way benefits people in
need.
Softball Tournament
The United Way holds an adult co-ed
softball tournament each year in July. The entry fee is $125 per team
and the roster is limited to 15 players. The winning team and the second
place team receive t-shirts and the winning team gets the traveling
trophy. For more information about the tournament or to sign your team
up, call the United Way Office at 753-0317 or send us an e-mail.
